Bitwise Launches NEAR ETF NRR With 0.75% Fee on NYSE Arca

Bitwise has brought the first US spot NEAR exchange-traded fund to market, listing the Bitwise NEAR ETF on NYSE Arca under the ticker NRR. The product began trading September 29, according to Blockonomi, and charges a 0.75% management fee.

Unlike derivatives-based products, NRR holds NEAR directly, so shareholders gain price exposure without buying the token, managing a wallet or running validator operations themselves. The fund also plans to stake a large share of its NEAR through Bitwise’s internal staking team.

Key facts

  • NRR trades on NYSE Arca and carries a 0.75% management fee.
  • The fund holds NEAR directly rather than derivatives and began trading September 29.
  • Staking rewards earned by the trust accrue to shareholders through changes in net asset value, and Bitwise notes those rewards can change and are not guaranteed.
  • NRR expands a Bitwise lineup that already includes single-asset products tied to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and Hyperliquid.
  • NEAR traded near $4.93 at the time of the report, with a market value near $6.5 billion.

Staking folded into a spot wrapper

NEAR runs on a proof-of-stake system that processes transactions and supports decentralized applications. By staking inside the trust, Bitwise lets NRR pair spot token exposure with staking income in a single exchange-traded product — a structure that differs from a plain holding vehicle, where no such yield is generated.

The trade-off is that the rewards are variable. Bitwise states they can change and are not guaranteed, so the net asset value shareholders see will reflect both the token’s price and whatever the trust earns from staking.

A busy stretch for crypto ETFs

NRR arrives during heavy activity in the US fund market. Solana ETFs recorded their strongest weekly inflow between September 21 and September 25, drawing $188.21 million, with Bitwise’s BSOL taking most of that total. That demand has encouraged managers to roll out single-token products on regulated exchanges, and NRR keeps its investment focus limited to NEAR and related staking rewards.

NEAR’s own September was strong. The token moved above $4 after gaining about 80% in a single week as traders tracked network activity, NEAR Intents and new privacy-focused trading tools. Market coverage cited NEAR’s rise while Bitcoin held above $81,000, a stretch that preceded NRR’s debut.

Why it matters

For US investors who want NEAR exposure inside a brokerage account, NRR adds an exchange-traded route that did not exist before, and the staking component means the fund is not simply a passive token holder. Bitwise is also framing NEAR as infrastructure for transactions involving AI agents, with CEO Hunter Horsley saying AI agents may increasingly handle economic tasks and interact with each other. That pitch ties the fund to two live narratives — regulated crypto access and AI-driven on-chain activity — at a time when NEAR has been among the stronger large-cap performers.

What to watch

Early inflows into NRR will show whether the staking feature draws buyers beyond plain spot exposure, and the next round of weekly US crypto ETF flow data will indicate whether the broader single-token fund market keeps expanding.
