Shiba Inu’s SHIB token is now live on the Solana network, and the expansion has coincided with a sharp jump in trading activity. According to Zycrypto, the token’s 24-hour volume climbed 199% to about $101 million, based on CoinMarketCap data, with SHIB trading near $0.000005943.

A second report from U.today put the volume increase at 171.8% over the same window, to more than $95,890,000, and listed SHIB at around $0.000005959, up 4.36% over 24 hours. Both outlets trace the surge to the Solana listing. The two volume percentages and price quotes differ, and each figure belongs to the outlet that published it.

Key facts

  • Shiba Inu’s token became available on Solana through an integration with Sunrise, giving Solana users access to SHIB’s canonical Ethereum token.
  • Zycrypto reported a 199% rise in 24-hour trading volume, to roughly $101 million, with SHIB near $0.000005943 and up about 2% on the day.
  • U.today, reporting data from CoinMarketCap, said volume rose 171.8% to more than $95,890,000, with SHIB near $0.000005959 and up 4.36% over 24 hours.
  • The Shib token account on X posted about the Solana listing on October 5, 2026, while U.today dates the launch to October 4.
  • The memecoin sector’s total market capitalisation rose 43% in the third quarter, its strongest quarter since the second quarter of 2025, per Zycrypto.

What Sunrise changes for holders

The integration does not move SHIB off Ethereum. Its native version stays an ERC-20 token and Shibarium keeps running on its own, while Sunrise introduces SHIB’s canonical representation on Solana so the asset can be traded on that network’s venues and tap its liquidity. U.today framed this as opening seamless trading and interaction with the meme coin for Solana users.

Market participants quoted by U.today expect the move to help push SHIB’s onchain holder count toward 1.7 million faster, though that outlet also noted onchain activity had slowed modestly in the days before the listing.

Why it matters

SHIB’s trading base still sits largely on Ethereum and Shibarium, so a Solana venue gives traders a second route into the token without forcing them to bridge out of that network. That matters most for Solana-native users who would otherwise have to leave the ecosystem to hold SHIB. The timing also lines up with a stronger quarter for memecoins overall, as reported by Zycrypto, which gives this listing more room to draw flows than it would have had in a quieter market. Solana’s own communications, per Zycrypto, pointed to SHIB’s large community and its moves beyond dog-themed branding.

What to watch

The next data points are whether the volume figures hold above the levels both outlets reported for the first day, and whether SHIB’s onchain holder count actually heads toward the 1.7 million mark U.today flagged. Broader memecoin market capitalisation through the fourth quarter is the other number to track, since Zycrypto treats it as the backdrop for this listing. Nothing here is financial advice, and crypto markets are volatile and hard to predict.
