TRON moved $19.4 billion in USDT over a 24-hour period, more transfer volume than any other network tracked, Crypto Briefing reported on November 3. The figure fits inside TRON’s recent daily range of $13 billion to $27 billion rather than breaking it, which is the point: the chain has settled into the role of default rail for Tether’s dollar token.

Quarterly data from Token Terminal, reported separately by crypto.news, shows the lead took shape over the past three months. TRON’s average USDT supply in Q3 2026 was $90.75 billion against Ethereum’s $87.73 billion, a gap of $3.02 billion, and the crossover happened in July: Token Terminal logged TRON ahead on July 16, briefly behind, then ahead continuously from July 23.

Key facts

  • TRON processed $19.4 billion in USDT transfers in one 24-hour window, the highest of any network, per Crypto Briefing.
  • Token Terminal recorded TRON’s Q3 2026 stablecoin transfers at $2.18 trillion, up 4.17% from Q2 and 3.70% year over year, per crypto.news; Crypto Briefing cites a range of $2.18 trillion to $2.21 trillion across Token Terminal, CoinDesk Data and Nansen, where Nansen reported $2.2126 trillion.
  • TRON’s average USDT supply of $90.75 billion represented 49.49% of tracked USDT supply during Q3, per Crypto Briefing; crypto.news notes the supply held at quarter end was $92.35 billion versus Ethereum’s $86.69 billion.
  • TRON averaged 76.53 million stablecoin holder addresses in Q3, against Ethereum’s 26.32 million and Solana’s 12.11 million, per Token Terminal as reported by crypto.news.
  • Network revenue was $693.21 million in Q3, down 3.10% from Q2 and 34.40% year over year, with average transaction fees at $0.64.

How TRON built the lead

The chain’s advantages are structural. Low fees and high throughput, with involvement from TRON DAO and Tether, have kept USDT issuance concentrated there, and gas-free USDT transfers removed the need for users to hold a second token just to send dollars. TRON has passed $30 trillion in cumulative transaction volume and more than 16 billion transactions, according to Crypto Briefing.

The baseline has climbed. Messari put TRON’s average daily USDT transfer volume at $19 billion in Q1 2025, up 3.3% quarter over quarter, while the Q3 2026 average came in around $24 billion, per Crypto Briefing. Token Terminal calculated that quarterly transfer volume equaled 23.67 times average supply — the average stablecoin dollar moving once every 3.89 days.

The reporting diverges on scale. crypto.news, drawing on Token Terminal’s Q3 report published November 2, puts average native stablecoin supply across the 12 tracked chains at $92.25 billion for TRON, 30.93% of the $298.23 billion total across all chains. Crypto Briefing’s account of supply draws on the same Token Terminal series but quotes a broader range of $90.75 billion to $93.88 billion for the quarter. Both outlets use Token Terminal’s $2.18 trillion transfer figure as the core series.

Volume growth has not lifted revenue. Transactions totaled 1.08 billion in Q3, up 0.28% from Q2 and 31.19% year over year, yet revenue fell. crypto.news reports that the yearly fee decline traces to Proposal 104, which cut TRON’s Energy price from 210 sun to 100 sun on August 29, 2025. Monthly active addresses averaged 17.81 million, though activity cooled from 20.09 million at June’s close to 15.42 million on September 30.

Why it matters

The concentration cuts both ways. Roughly half of tracked USDT supply and about 73% of stablecoin transfer volume sit on one chain, which makes TRON’s volume, revenue and user base dependent on a single asset and on Tether’s continued preference for the network. Ethereum retains a large USDT base even with TRON’s now larger share. For holders of TRX, the network’s $693 million quarterly revenue and its 93% share of tracked Layer 1 and Layer 2 revenue are the figures that underpin the token’s economics.

Institutional access expanded during Q3. Anchorage Digital added native TRX staking on July 14, Bitnomial listed TRX futures on July 27, and Canary Capital’s Staked TRX ETF began trading under the ticker TRXS on September 9, according to crypto.news. Crypto Briefing separately notes the ETF as the network’s first US spot staked TRX product.

What to watch

Daily volume relative to the $13 billion to $27 billion band will show whether activity is still expanding, and TRONSCAN’s supply reading — above $94 billion as of early November, per Crypto Briefing — will indicate whether new USDT keeps landing on TRON first. Holding 93% of tracked Layer 1 and Layer 2 revenue invites competitors, so the next quarterly revenue print is the number to compare.
